Our vision is that children will be born again by the power of the Holy Spirit through faith in the person and work of Jesus Christ and grow in knowledge and obedience to the infallible Holy Scriptures. Over the years, we have been blessed to see many children serving Christ “in the days of their youth” (Ecc. 12:1). We seek to do what we can, by God’s Holy Spirit, to encourage our youth to serve Christ.

Nursery: Nursery is offered for babies and toddlers during all church services. Trained care-givers work to maintain a safe and healthy environment.

Children: We have engaging Sunday School classes for children of all ages at 9:00 a.m. on Sundays. We draw from a variety of sources to teach Biblical truths from a Reformed perspective. Children also memorize Bible verses that are appropriate for their age.

At 10:00 a.m., children who are in first grade or older join their parents for our family worship service. During this second hour, younger children attend their own junior church worship and participate in a variety of activities.

During the 5:00 p.m. family worship service, children who are younger than kindergarten age attend their own night church classes, with a time of worship, Bible stories, and other activities.

Junior High: Our junior high group, which includes students in 7th and 8th grade, is committed to studying and living out the Word of God. We also have social events where we develop relationships in age-appropriate activities, such as pizza and game nights.

Grace High: Teenage years are a crucial time in a person’s life. Although the culture around us expects  rebellion, the Bible commands us to “train up a child in the way he should go” (Prov. 22:6). Grace High promotes an experiential knowledge of God, encourages growth in Christian maturity, helps students develop a vision for the kingdom of God, and brings the good news of the gospel to the local high school campuses.

  • Ministry: Grace High meets every week during the Sunday school hour.  Each student is also in a “fellowship group” that meets once a month, and students have the opportunity to talk with leaders on an individual basis.
  • Fellowship & Outreach Events: Grace High participates in many activities, from walking the corn maze in Dixon to doing a scavenger hunt in downtown Davis. They have gone to the snow, to San Francisco, and the Sacramento River.

Other Activities

Youth Camp: This week long summer camp for the GVCA fifth through twelfth graders encourages the young people to grow in their faith and allows them to enjoy exhilarating outdoor recreation.

Sports and Fitness Camp: This summer activity is designed to develop spiritual and physical fitness for boys and girls entering kindergarten through ninth grade. It also provides an outreach to the surrounding community.  Download your application here.

Reformation Day: Every October 31, we hold a Reformation Day celebration. When Martin Luther nailed the 95 Theses to the church door at Wittenberg on October 31, 1517, he set off the spark that would ignite the Protestant Reformation. We hold a worship service followed by a costume march and an assortment of activities for the children.
