It is impossible to overstate the importance of faith for the Christian.

In fact, in one sense, faith is the only divine requirement for eternal salvation. When the Philippian jailer cried out in the middle of night, “What must I do to be saved?” Paul answered simply, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ” (Acts 16:30–31, KJV). Hebrews 11:6 tells us that “without faith it is impossible to please God.” And it is “through faith [that Christians] are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time” (1 Peter 1:5).

In this blog series, “Faith is the Victory,”

  1. We want to first find out what the Scripture teaches about authentic, saving faith so we can examine ourselves to see if we believe accordingly.
  2. Then, having determined that we are in the faith, we want to learn what the Bible teaches us about the enemies of our faith—the strategies that the devil uses in an attempt to weaken, dishearten, and destroy our faith, if possible (see 2 Corinthians 2:11).
  3. Finally, we want to discover how we can lead a triumphant life even in the midst of such opposition. Thanks be to God, Christians can successfully resist the devil and his temptations through the word of God and the mighty Holy Spirit.

Faith is the victory that overcomes the world!
