Where Do You Find Grace?
Jesus Christ is the embodiment of grace. Paul writes, “[God] has saved us and called us to a holy lifeānot because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time, but it has now been revealed through the appearing of our Savior, Christ Jesus, who has destroyed death and has brought life and immortality to light through the gospel” (2 Tim. 1:9-10).
In Jesus Christ alone we find everything we need for life and godliness, including all grace. In John 1:17 we read, “For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.” The grace and truth that are in Jesus enable us to follow the law, not to throw it away.
In Christ, we find:
- Grace to live,
- Grace to endure hardship,
- Grace to be Christ’s witnesses, and
- Grace to die
Everything we need is found in Christ Jesus. Jesus said, “I am the vine; you are the branches” (John 15:5). When we are united with Christ, everything we need will come to us, and by his grace we will produce fruit, more fruit, and much fruit to the glory of God the Father.
