Women’s Retreat 2014

For nineteen years the women of Grace Valley Christian Center have carved out precious time to gather to worship God, fellowship and hear special words of encouragement.
Following a time of singing, Scripture reading, and prayer the first morning session began opened with a special opportunity for women of all ages to proclaim God’s faithfulness in their lives. Many shared their thanksgiving for answered prayer, God’s provision, and grace to bear up under trials.
Mrs. Mathew then admonished the group to remain faithful to their vows made before the Lord. She specifically highlighted mothers’ vows to raise their children in the fear and instruction of the Lord, providing many specific examples of how this must impact our daily lives. She explained that children follow our examples and thus we must model holy lives from Scripture. Praise God that given such a solemn task we have access to the grace – unlimited power – from God!
Following lunch, the women enjoyed a time of laughter and games as all performed rousing renditions of hymns complete with choreography.
Sharon Broderick, leader of Beautiful Minds and Principal of Grace Valley Christian Academy, also addressed the group from Psalm 51. She outlined how the psalmist faced the reality of his sin, repented and upon receiving forgiveness was filled with such great joy! She encouraged the women to remain faithful on the ancient path outlined in Scripture and to reject superficial Christianity. She closed by calling each to pray ”Lord help me build my home on the rock of Christ!”
The day closed as all present prayed to the Lord that He would bless them with new hearts and renewed commitment to Him.
