Upon graduating from law school, he completed a fellowship at Pacific Legal Foundation, served as a law clerk on the United States Court of Appeal for the 9th Circuit, became a partner in Sacramento's oldest and largest law firm, and served as an Assistant United States Attorney, defending the United States in litigation and prosecuting environmental violations and drug crimes in federal court. He was saved in 2004 through the ministry of this Church, and has served in various ministries since that time. His wife Sharon, also a licensed attorney, is the principal of Grace Valley Christian Academy. They have two children.

Dr. Richard Spencer
Dr. Spencer is an elder and minister at GVCC and has led GVCC's Faith and Reason Series. He is Professor Emeritus of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at UC Davis, and a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE). He received his B.S.E.E. from San Jose State University and his M.S. and Ph.D. from Stanford University. He was a faculty member at UC Davis for 25 years, served as the vice chair of the department, and held an endowed professorship. He has been married to his wife, Patti, since 1979 and has three children and thirteen grandchildren. He has been a member of GVCC since giving his life to Christ in 1992.

Richard Spencer
![]() Dr. Richard Spencer Dr. Spencer is an elder and minister at GVCC and has led GVCC's Faith and Reason Series. He is Professor Emeritus of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at UC Davis, and a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE). He received his B.S.E.E. from San Jose State University and his M.S. and Ph.D. from Stanford University. He was a faculty member at UC Davis for 25 years, served as the vice chair of the department, and held an endowed professorship. He has been married to his wife, Patti, since 1979 and has three children and thirteen grandchildren. He has been a member of GVCC since giving his life to Christ in 1992. |
